General Information

Sun City Rotary Club
Annual “Breakfast with Santa” Project

The Sun City Rotary Club, the Georgetown Fire Department and the Georgetown Independent School District - Extended School Enrichment program extend a huge “THANK YOU” to all of the 2010 “Breakfast with Santa” sponsors, donors and volunteers who made this annual community-wide project possible. Christmas was a lot brighter for the 102 children from 35 Georgetown families that were helped in 2010.

The Pacesetting Sponsor for “Breakfast with Santa” for the third year in a row was The Employees of Chatsworth Products, Inc. with an incredible donation of $5,200 that provided clothing, gifts and food for more than six of this year’s families. Assistance for the other “Breakfast with Santa” families was made possible because of many other individuals and area businesses that also generously sponsored the project at the Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze level. More than 100 additional contributors also donated from $10 to $149 or provided in-kind items or services.  In addition to gifts for the selected Georgetown children, a grocery gift card was given to every family to help them enjoy a special Christmas meal together.

2011 will be the eleventh year for “Breakfast with Santa” which has gradually increased from three Georgetown families with a total of ten children to the current level. The GISD – ESE program identifies families and provides clothing sizes and information for each of the selected children.  A small army of Sun City Rotarians, spouses, friends and other volunteers will then purchase and eventually wrap over 800 gifts that will be delivered on December 10.  A pancake and sausage breakfast cooked and served by Georgetown Firefighters, Sun City Rotarians and friends will be held Saturday, December 17, at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park.  In 2010, nearly 850 people ate breakfast plus Santa was available for consultation and complimentary pictures with the kids.

Sun City Rotarians will be coordinating fund-raising efforts and tax-deductible donations can be made thru the Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation or directly to the Rotary Club.  If you would like additional information about “Breakfast with Santa” or would like to contribute to the project, please contact a Sun City Rotarian or send an e-mail to:  sun-city-rotary@suddenlink.net

Important Note:
Breakfast with Santa this year will be held at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park and NOT the Fire Station.
